Privacy Policy - Terms & Conditions 

TERMS & CONDITIONS 2024

Show Stars Theatre Company Ltd. a company incorporated in England and Wales with registered number 13938105 whose registered office is at 21 Lodge Lane, Grays, Essex, RM17 5RY. For the parent or guardian of the student wishing to register, this document sets out your terms and conditions of enrolment, and the following requirements have been agreed upon for this company. Please read carefully before consenting to your participation. 

BOOKING

 

Classes run parallel to school term dates. Classes will NOT run on inset days, non pupil days and school closure dates. Dates that aren't available for the hall to be hired will NOT be included in your term fee. You will be notified ahead of time. 

FEES

Payments are to be made one week prior to class starting. Payments that are not made on time will be marked as “no fee” and entry for that child will not be permitted. Each school reception will have a register for the class - this will include fees paid and not paid. Fees are payable via bank transfer or PayPal. Show Stars identify as a "cashless club" and we reserve the right to increase fees at any time.  

UNIFORM 

Students will be required to wear uniform tops. Shirts & Jumpers are available to purchase through the store. This helps to keep the children safe throughout the school and is mandatory, not optional. If wearing a skirt please provide shorts to be worn underneath. Please also send students in the correct footwear to help prevent injury. These can include trainers or dance shoes. Socks and bare feet are not advised. 

FOOD & DRINK

Students attending our classes must have water or juice available to them, provided by the parent / guardian. We will not be able to provide drinks to the students unless in emergency circumstances. Food is NOT permitted in class. Due to allergies and school regulations students will not be allowed to eat during the class. Teachers are NOT allowed to provide the children with any food, unless in special medical circumstances where this has been organised by the parent, school and class teacher. 

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS 

Refunds are available up to 48 hours after first class.  SSTC Ltd are under no obligation to refund or deduct any classes that you are not able to attend. Payments must be paid in full. Cancellations made by us will not be refunded but transferred to the following term. Cancellations made by the school at short notice will not be refunded or transferred. 

FORCE MAJEURE

The meaning of force majeure is a situation beyond the reasonable control of SSTC Ltd, including but not limited to; school strikes, environmental emergencies, building emergencies, disputes etc. SSTC Ltd will not be liable to the customer as a result of failing to open class due to a Force Majeure Event. 

SAFTEY

All parents must tick the liability form to confirm that all students take part at their own risk. Whilst SSTC Ltd have taken all the legal and responsible steps to make our classes as safe as possible, we cannot accept any liability for any injury or damage suffered by any participant before, during, or after class. We must be advised of any pre-existing conditions before attending and it is your legal responsibility to seek medical approval for this condition before registering. 

 

PHOTOS & VIDEOS 

All applications that state “YES” to videos and photos are willing and agreeing to have these shared on the companies social media and advertising platforms. They will not be shared on personal social media unless confirmed by the teacher, parent, and student. All videos and photos can be overruled by the school at any time. We are also notified of any sensitive safeguarding cases and adhere to school rules to keep them safe. 

WITHDRAWAL OF SERVICE 

Poor behaviour will be handled by SSTC Ltd at its own discretion. Children can be refused entry or be sent home immediately. We also reserve the right to terminate the child's registration that term. Safety for our teachers and students is top priority and extremely poor behaviour will not be tolerated. 

 

TEACHERS

 

Whilst we strive to promise you the same teacher each week, we cannot guarantee this due to sickness, terminations of contracts and failure to reach class due to matters out of their own control. (Accidents, public transport issues, or car failures). You will notified ASAP before class. 

 

LIABILITY 

All teachers are thoroughly vetted to ensure that they are suitable for teaching within our company. All teachers are fully insured with Public Liability Insurance & Indemnity Insurance. All teachers are DBS checked and are part of the Update Service. (Meaning all employers can check a DBS certificate at any time). All teachers have First Aid training & Safeguarding Training. 

 

SSTC Ltd accepts no liability for the actions of the teacher(s) within the classes. You shall have no claim against SSTC Ltd in any circumstances for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the teacher(s) in question. 

LOST PROPERTY 

SSTC Ltd or any teacher(s) in question cannot take responsibility for any money or personal items lost or stolen during the class. We will not accept any liability in this case. 

 

DATA PROTECTION 

We will process your personal and sensitive data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. SSTC Ltd will share your details with your teacher(s) in question in an emergency situation. Teachers will not hold any information unless advised by you for medical or personal needs. We will not share this information with any third party.

 PHYSICAL CONTACT 

By signing our forms you agree that teachers sometimes need to use physical contact when working with children and you accept and acknowledge this. Some children require help changing into their uniform, others may need help if they have fallen down, and our first aid consent box must be ticked YES or NO. (If no you will be contacted to talk further about this). 

TOILET BREAKS 

Teachers are not permitted to leave the classroom and chaperone the students for toilet breaks. Students will be allowed to visit the bathroom in pairs. 

SICKNESS & ILLNESS 

We kindly ask you not to send any children who are sick or injured. Unless this has been cleared by the doctor that they are able to attend. If your child is sick or injured and they attend our classes you are agreeing that you are liable, and take responsibility for any further sickness or injuries incurred during class. 

SAFEGUARDING 

Please ensure that you inform SSTC Ltd of any safeguarding information that will help us to keep your child safe. This includes any restrictions with family members and any concerns of welfare.
